Kacey Musgraves sets January release for Tex-Mex companion album

Country singer Kacey Musgraves announced a companion album to her 2026 record Middle of Nowhere.

Called Middle of Nowhere Vol.

2: Tex Mex Tapes, it is due January 15, 2027.

The 16-track collection includes 11 original songs and five covers, with four songs sung entirely in Spanish.

It draws on Texas roots and Mexican musical influences, including a Spanish version of “Uncertain, TX” with the band Intocable.

Two tracks, “Weekend in Texas” and “Mi Tesoro,” are out now; “Mi Tesoro” is a cover of a norteño classic.

The album extends the musical ideas of Middle of Nowhere and explores themes of solitude and contentment.

Musgraves is finishing her Middle of Nowhere tour in October, with the album release next in January.
