Former Société Générale banker launches Geneva finance firm

Frédéric Oculy launched Alpha Street Financial in Geneva, with the firm officially starting in August.

Oculy previously held investment roles at JAR (Switzerland), Deutsche Bank and Société Générale.

The firm focuses on small and micro-sized external asset managers in western Switzerland, which often have lean teams.

Swiss rules have increased their regulatory, operational and investment demands, and Alpha Street offers strategic advice and help reviewing investment processes and products.

It also connects clients with banks, brokers, specialists and investment opportunities, including property transactions.

Alpha Street has exclusive mandates for 30 Swiss properties intended to underpin a planned property club deal.

The proposed deal would use viager, in which owners sell property for a lifetime annuity and often retain the right to live there for life.
