Kathleen Kennedy to Lead Ceremonies for 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Kathleen Kennedy will lead the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

She is replacing Peter Rice, who will stay involved with the organizing group as an executive producer.

Kennedy led Lucasfilm for nearly 14 years and left the role at the end of 2025.

The ceremonies will be part of the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, which will also include events in other cities.

Kennedy said she will work with creative director Ben Winston and the LA28 team.

The Games will bring athletes from around the world to compete, and Kennedy said she is honored to help celebrate Olympians and Paralympians.
