Maatrubhumi Awaits CBFC Screening as Makers Eye November 13 Release

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi is still awaiting a CBFC screening before it can be released in cinemas.

The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley.

After concerns were raised about parts of the original story, the makers revised the film, which reportedly presents India-China relations more positively.

The revised film has received government clearance, but that does not replace certification by the Central Board of Film Certification.

The makers applied for certification in early October, and a screening expected on October 26 did not take place.

The makers are aiming for a November 13 release, but the date has not been officially confirmed.

The film can reach cinemas only if the CBFC certifies it in time.
