Busan to launch South Korea’s first physical AI research schools

The Busan education office will designate five physical AI research schools next year, in what it says will be a first for South Korea.

The plan aims to move beyond basic coding lessons and develop teaching that helps students think, discuss and solve real-world problems.

Physical AI is the focus of the initiative, which the office presents as part of a future-oriented education model.

On November 2, the office will hold a workshop for about 300 teachers and education specialists at the Busan Education Research and Information Institute.

The workshop will help teachers understand physical AI and plan lessons suited to students’ levels.

Speakers will cover education policy, changes in robotics and examples of classroom practice across school levels.

The office hopes teaching ideas will spread to classrooms across Busan.
