Samsung says Fold8 sales are 45% higher than Fold7 in Europe

Samsung says Fold8 sales are 45% higher than Fold7 in Europe

Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold8 duo outsold the Fold7 by 45% in Europe during the first nine weeks after going on sale.

The comparison covers the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra together, against one Fold7 model in the equivalent period last year.

Samsung has not given sales figures for either new model separately, so it is unclear how each performed on its own.

Searches for Samsung foldables rose more than 260% across 32 European markets in September compared with August.

The biggest weekly jump, 460%, came from September 6 to 12, when Apple unveiled its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo.

The timing suggests Apple's announcement may have drawn more people to foldable phones, though Samsung has not shown how much of its sales growth came from that interest.

Apple’s iPhone Duo is due to go on sale tomorrow, according to the information available.
