VK Sriraman recalls Mammootty’s car hitting a boy near Ooty

Writer and actor VK Sriraman shared a memory of a road accident involving actor Mammootty.

He said it happened about 40 years ago, while they were travelling near Ooty in Tamil Nadu during a film shoot.

Mammootty’s car hit a 10-year-old boy who was crossing the road to catch a bus near a convent school.

The boy was thrown into a roadside drain, but he was smiling and appeared unharmed.

A man identified as the school’s security chief said the boy had cricket balls in his pocket where the car struck his thigh, and that he had fallen into bushes.

People did not attack or threaten them, despite Sriraman’s fear that they might.

He said he kept looking behind until they reached Coimbatore, and later shared the story on social media.

If you look at it, it seems like a big accident, but nothing happened to anyone. Like a stunt scene in a film.
