Spain withdraws five erectile dysfunction supplements containing undeclared drugs
Spain’s medicines agency has withdrawn five products sold as supplements for erectile dysfunction.
The products were Etumax Royal Honey, Miel Soudan VIP, Epimedyumlu Macum, Organic Honey and El Toro.
Tests found that all five contained sildenafil, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction that was not listed on their labels.
Etumax Royal Honey also contained tadalafil, and Organic Honey contained paracetamol.
Because the products contain active medicines, they need medical oversight and may be unsafe for people with certain health conditions or those taking other medicines.
The agency warns that possible harms include serious heart problems and stroke.
The products have been removed from the market; no further steps are stated.
