Rice Prices Rose Across Indonesia’s Supply Chain in October

Rice prices rose at retail, wholesale and milling levels across Indonesia in October 2026.

The average retail price was Rp15,765 per kilogram, while wholesale rice averaged Rp14,994 and milling-level rice Rp14,365.

Officials say production is lower before the main harvest, which usually takes place in February or March, compared with October to December.

The retail price rose 0.08% from September and 4.10% from a year earlier.

The government is using Bulog rice distribution to help limit price rises and keep rice affordable, especially for lower-income households.

Officials said El Niño may have an effect, but considered it less important than the seasonal dip in production.
