Birdbuddy launches smart bird feeder starting at $99

Birdbuddy has launched the Nook, a compact smart bird feeder for people who want to watch birds at home.

The feeder is designed for patios, balconies and small yards.

Its camera captures visiting birds and the app uses AI to identify their species through the Birdbuddy app.

The Nook costs $99 and holds 3.8 cups of seed, while the $159 Nook Solar adds a solar panel to help keep its battery charged.

The Nook offers bird recognition without a subscription, according to the company.

Birdbuddy has also launched the $219 Home, a larger feeder with a six-cup capacity and solar panels.

These models give buyers lower-cost options than many smart feeders, which often cost around $200 or more.

The feeders are available through Birdbuddy’s online store, and some versions are expected at other retailers later this month.
