WhatsApp adds four features to make group chats easier to manage
WhatsApp is rolling out four features for group chats to help people manage conversations and keep track of updates.
A new “Mentions and replies” filter will show unread group chats where someone has mentioned you or replied directly, including with an @all message.
Group messages can now be pinned indefinitely, instead of for only 24 hours, seven days or 30 days.
After someone joins a group, members will be able to send that person recent messages from the chat.
Group members can share status updates just with that group, and others can view, react to and post their own updates.
These statuses disappear after 24 hours.
The features may take time to reach everyone, so availability will vary during the rollout.
