Central China Agricultural Expo aims to connect Hunan producers with buyers year-round

The 27th Central China Agricultural Expo is preparing to open in Changsha, Hunan.

Organizers say it will bring together more than 3,500 companies and over 30,000 agricultural products, with overseas buyers including businesses from Vietnam, Thailand and Madagascar.

The expo is trying to move beyond a short event by linking its four days of trading with year-round buyer and producer services.

Since June, six sourcing events in Hunan farming areas have brought producers together with buyers, including buyers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Those events recorded more than 100 business matches and orders worth over 30 million yuan, while online matching made nearly 600 connections.

During the expo, planned meetings will cover products such as tea, fresh produce and grain, and connect suppliers with buyers in Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States and the Greater Bay Area.

The organizers hope these steps will make it easier for Hunan producers to reach buyers and markets.
