Police investigate Reform mayor over alleged sexual images shown to staff member

Police are investigating Luke Campbell, the Reform UK mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, over allegations about images shown at work.

A senior female staff member says Campbell showed her four naked and sexualised images of himself in May without her consent.

She says she felt humiliated, and that an offer of a permanent job was withdrawn about three weeks later.

Campbell denies the allegations, and no arrest or charge has been made; he was questioned by Humberside police under caution earlier this month.

The woman’s account is described in documents from an internal workplace grievance, and another witness said they saw an image of a naked man with a tattoo on Campbell’s computer.

The case matters because it concerns alleged conduct by an elected mayor toward a staff member in a public authority workplace.

The police investigation is ongoing, and the authority has confirmed it is under way.

I was deliberately exposed to naked and sexualised images involving the mayor in the workplace, without my consent, and was laughed at when I was visibly embarrassed.

In my view, this was unwanted conduct of a sexual nature which violated my dignity and created a humiliating, degrading and offensive working environment.
