Sánchez says PP and Vox would give in to Trump if they govern
Pedro Sánchez accused the PP and Vox leaders of yielding to Donald Trump if they win Spain’s November 29 election.
He made the claim at a campaign rally in Bilbao, alongside Basque Socialist leader Eneko Andueza and Patxi López.
Sánchez said Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal would accept Trump’s demands, including higher military spending and his positions on Iran and Gaza.
Sánchez presented the election as a choice over Spain’s independence, saying decisions about the country should be made in Spain, not abroad.
He described the PP and Vox as part of a wider far-right political movement and urged progressive voters to mobilise.
He pointed to the 2023 Spanish election, when polls had forecast a clear victory for the PP and Vox but Sánchez was able to return to government.
Sánchez called on voters to back his side on November 29 and said strong turnout could again change the outcome.
Pedro Sánchez warned that the leaders of Spain’s People’s Party (PP) and Vox would yield to Donald Trump’s demands if they entered government.
He said Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal would not stand up to the US president.
Sánchez argued that Spain should decide its own affairs and should not become a “backyard” for the far right.
He urged progressive voters to turn out in the November 29 election.
The remarks came at a rally in Bilbao with Basque Socialist leader Eneko Andueza and Patxi López.
