NuNew Says Live Singing Is More Unforgiving Than Acting

Thai singer-actor NuNew discussed his career backstage at the 2026 TMElive International Music Awards.

He said he began as a professional actor and later moved into music, after discovering around age 19 or 20 that people enjoyed his singing.

He finds acting and singing nerve-racking, but acting allows another take if something goes wrong.

A live song can only be performed once, so a mistake cannot be corrected.

NuNew also explained that Bowkylion brought him the duet “Kata”, which he described as a sad song about loving someone who loves another person.

Bowkylion arranged the music to add brightness and a more positive element, and NuNew performed songs including “Heartquake” at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium.

With acting, you can ask for a new take, and it will gradually get better. But with singing live, it can only be done once. If you make a mistake, that’s it, which is exciting in a different way
