R Madhavan says son Vedaant is not close to Olympic level

Actor R Madhavan says his son Vedaant is far from the Olympics despite his achievements as a swimmer.

Vedaant has represented India in international swimming competitions and won a silver medal at the 2022 Danish Open.

Madhavan says his son receives extra attention because of his father’s fame, and that both of them recognise this.

He has advised Vedaant to distinguish sporting success from fame and popularity, which can come before an athlete has reached their goals.

Madhavan also says comparing children can hurt them and argues that celebrity children should be allowed to grow at their own pace.

The family has moved to Dubai for Vedaant’s swimming training, while Madhavan says his son must build his own career.
