Iraq says it will not host armed groups involved in regional conflicts

Iraq says it will not shelter armed groups involved in conflicts across the region, government spokesman Haider al-Aboudi said.

He denied reports of Houthi headquarters in Iraq.

Baghdad also says it is coordinating with Ankara on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the withdrawal of its units from Iraq.

Turkey outlaws the group.

Iraq has a separate high-level committee with Iran to address the presence in Iraq of Kurdish units opposed to Tehran’s government.

The government says it will not let Iraqi territory threaten neighboring countries.

The statements set out Iraq’s position and the cooperation it says is under way with Turkey and Iran.
