Four Indonesian Rural Banks Merge Into Arthaguna Mandiri

Indonesia’s financial regulator, the Financial Services Authority approved a merger of four rural banks.

The banks are based in Indonesia, and BPR Arthaguna Mandiri is the bank that will remain after the merger.

The merger took effect on August 10, 2026, following regulatory approval.

The regulator says a larger, stronger bank could improve efficiency and expand services and lending.

It hopes the merged bank will increase financing for small businesses and productive local sectors.

The regulator will oversee the integration and says the bank must protect customers while improving its operations, staff, technology and governance.
