Rosatom plans to raise Bushehr construction staff to 200 in November
Russia’s Rosatom plans to increase construction staff at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant to 200 in November.
The plant is being built with Rosatom’s involvement, and its Russian staff numbers fell sharply during a military conflict.
Staffing dropped from 700 to 20 at the conflict’s peak, according to Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev.
He said the 20 staff members stayed at the site, and about 125 construction workers are now there.
Another 40 people are joining the team handling initial operations.
The planned increase is to 200 construction workers, but Likhachev said a worsening military situation could affect the plan.
