Financial strain is pushing more US workers to delay medical care
Financial security among US employees fell in 2026, according to a survey by benefits company Willis Towers Watson.
The share who felt financially secure dropped from 46% to 36%, its lowest level in seven years.
About one-third delayed or skipped medical or dental care in the past year because of cost concerns, even though they had health insurance.
Workers in their 40s reported the greatest strain: only 30% felt financially secure, and more than 40% delayed or skipped care over money worries.
High deductibles and out-of-pocket costs can make it harder for people to get needed care.
About two in three expect a worse retirement than their parents' generation, and they cited healthcare costs as an obstacle to saving.
