Police seize about 120 kg of drugs in northern São Paulo

São Paulo Civil Police seized about 120 kg of drugs in Jardim Peri, in the city’s northern zone.

The seizure took place on Monday, October 19, during an investigation into drug trafficking.

Officers said they saw two men unloading materials from a utility vehicle at a property, and arrested them after they tried to flee.

Police found 102 kg of cocaine and 17.9 kg of marijuana, some hidden in a wardrobe and a room at the back of the property.

They also seized phones, scales, a cash-counting machine, documents and the vehicle.

The men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, association for drug trafficking and resisting arrest; one was also wanted in a femicide investigation involving a pregnant woman.

Police say the investigation is continuing to establish the men’s roles and examine whether the property was part of a drug storage and distribution network.
