Alcaraz beats Cerundolo in Shanghai return and advances to face Bergs
Carlos Alcaraz beat Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-3, 6-3 in the second round of the 2026 Shanghai Masters in China.
It was Alcaraz’s first match at the tournament since 2024, as he missed last year’s event through injury.
He said he was happy to play again in front of Shanghai fans, whom he described as passionate and supportive.
Alcaraz had arrived from Tokyo with only two days to prepare and said he had to adjust to different conditions.
