Matthew Perry’s friends describe feeling betrayed by people around him

A Netflix documentary revisits Matthew Perry’s life and death through interviews with his family, friends and colleagues.

Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing on Friends, died in October 2023 at age 54 from the acute effects of ketamine.

His sister says his assistant betrayed the family by obtaining and administering the drug despite knowing Perry’s long struggle with addiction.

The assistant, Kenny Iwamasa, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison in May 2026.

Perry’s friend says people around him exploited his addiction and wealth, leaving him at a serious disadvantage.

His sister attended court hearings and said the experience helped her release some of the emotions she had carried since his death.

The documentary also shows how those close to Perry hope he will be remembered and reflects on the legal proceedings against people accused of supplying him with ketamine.
