Insurers and pension funds buy Rp137.4 trillion in Indonesian bonds

Insurance companies and pension funds bought more Indonesian government bonds than they sold.

Their net purchases reached Rp137.4 trillion by September 30, or 27.62% of total net bond issuance.

This shows that domestic institutions are helping fund the government.

The government says its borrowing plan aims to cover spending needs while keeping costs and risks under control.
