Ravens bring kicker Jake Moody back to practice squad

The Ravens are bringing kicker Jake Moody back to their practice squad as competition for Tyler Loop.

Loop missed a 49-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, when Baltimore led 10-3, and the team lost 13-10.

Coach Jesse Minter said the team needs to make second-half kicks and will keep working with Loop.

Loop has made 10 of 13 field goals this season, but all three misses came from 40 to 49 yards.

He previously hit a 56-yard overtime field goal to beat the Cowboys in Week 3.

The Ravens had signed Moody once before, then released him from the practice squad on September 15 after Loop made two long field goals against the Colts.

Moody's return gives the team another kicker to compete with Loop, though the team has not said what role Moody will have next.

You could argue that second-half missed field goals are no different than turning the ball over.
