Flamengo asks sports court to halt Libertadores final ticket sales

Flamengo has asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to pause ticket sales for the Libertadores final between Palmeiras and Estudiantes.

The final is scheduled for 28 November in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Flamengo had challenged Estudiantes’ use of defender Marcos Rojo in their semifinal, arguing he was not properly registered.

CONMEBOL rejected Flamengo’s complaint, leaving Estudiantes in the final; Flamengo has withdrawn its request to take semifinal points but is still seeking a halt to ticket sales.

Ticket sales for a mixed section in Uruguay have begun, while sales for tickets allocated to each club’s fans are due to start on 10 November.

The court has asked CONMEBOL to respond by 2 November before it decides whether to grant Flamengo’s request.
