Coveo buys Anglera to help retailers prepare for AI shopping agents

Coveo has bought San Francisco-based Anglera, a two-year-old startup, for an undisclosed amount.

The Montreal technology company says the purchase adds software that helps retailers and brands prepare for shoppers using AI assistants to find products.

Anglera’s technology checks product catalogue data from retailers and their suppliers, then fills gaps and corrects errors.

Better product data can help AI agents recommend and find items accurately, as these systems take on shopping tasks for users.

Coveo already provides software that helps AI tools use customer data and helps retailers power search on their websites.

Anglera’s five employees will join Coveo’s 800-person workforce, and Coveo expects the new technology to bring in revenue from retail and industrial customers.

Coveo says the product is ready for sale to select customers, but it did not give a timeline for wider availability.
