Father alerts police after finding drugs and cigarettes at home in La Rochelle

On 4 October, a father in La Rochelle called police after his son threatened him over cigarettes found in the family home.

Officers found 17 boxes holding 50 cartons of cigarettes each, along with cocaine, cannabis resin and €475 in cash.

The two brothers are minors, and police said they had been storing the goods there for about a week.

They admitted taking part in drug and tobacco trafficking, but did not identify their supplier.

Investigators linked the stash to the arrest the previous week of another person who had been storing drugs for traffickers.

The brothers were placed under judicial supervision while they await a hearing before a juvenile judge.

Their hearing is scheduled for December 2026.
