Two young men charged after stabbing near Canberra school

Police say two young men aged 18 and 19 were charged after a stabbing near Lake Tuggeranong College in Canberra's south.

They allege the men confronted a teenager they knew in a car park near the school on Monday afternoon.

The student was allegedly stabbed in the arm and hand during the altercation.

Police say there was a struggle over the knife, and the 18-year-old also suffered an arm injury.

The school said the student was doing well and receiving medical care, and that support was available for students who were upset.

The pair face several charges, including affray and offences involving bodily harm; the 18-year-old also faces a charge of endangering life with an offensive weapon.

They are expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
