The Italian Sea Group receives five binding offers, including two for the whole company

The Italian Sea Group has received five binding offers for assets from its business.

The Italian company says all five are structured as asset deals, meaning they concern assets rather than a purchase of the company’s shares.

Two offers cover the entire business, while the others concern parts of it.

One partial offer comes from Polo Nautico Carrara, a company jointly owned by Sanlorenzo and a Sanlorenzo-controlled firm, and covers the La Spezia shipyard.

The bidders say the proposed deal would protect the shipyard’s supply chain and jobs, but it still depends on the competitive sale process and the offer’s conditions.

The company’s board is assessing the offers with help from advisers, and the selected offer is expected to be announced after that review.

The company also plans to submit a recovery plan to a court by the end of October.
