Seoul exhibition presents Korean VR art for Korea-France anniversary

A Seoul exhibition will present virtual reality and AI-based art from Korea, France and Taiwan from Nov.

2 to 10.

It is part of Digital November, a global creative project marking 140 years of diplomatic ties between Korea and France.

The exhibition is being held at S Factory Wash in Seongsu-dong, with the Korea Foundation among its partners.

It will premiere a new work by Korean artist duo Woobak Studio, whose VR work was the first from Korea officially invited to Cannes’ immersive competition.

In the new work, visitors fly through a virtual world from the viewpoint of an autonomous agent modeled on a moth’s evasive movements.

Visitors control the flight with hand gestures, exploring how technology can make beings visible or erase them; schedules are available on the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival website.
