Kamada’s late goal earns 10-man Crystal Palace a draw with Hoffenheim

Crystal Palace earned a 1-1 Europa League draw with Hoffenheim at Selhurst Park.

Hoffenheim took an early lead through Alexander Prass, but Daichi Kamada scored a late equaliser for Palace after a goalmouth scramble.

Palace had to play the final 13 minutes with 10 men after Adam Wharton was sent off.

The draw came despite Hoffenheim creating the better chances, and Palace are 20th in the Europa League standings.

Manager Pierre Sage said Palace needed to improve defensively after giving their opponents too much space.

Palace face Liverpool on Sunday, while they still have work to do in the European competition.
