Russian composer Alexander Zatsepin recently celebrated his 100th birthday at a concert in Moscow and is approaching 101.

He says his former teacher, composer Yevgeny Brusilovsky, taught him to work regularly instead of waiting for inspiration.

Zatsepin says he still works most mornings from 9 a.m.

to 1 p.m.

and avoids working too late so he can sleep well.

His longtime companion and director, Muza Li, says his eating habits also matter, and that he prefers fish and rabbit meat.

Zatsepin says he has completed six musicals and a ballet and continues to work.

He says he has many plans ahead, but does not know how much time he has left.
