Carrick set to lead Manchester United against Bournemouth amid pressure
Michael Carrick is expected to lead Manchester United against Bournemouth in Sunday's Premier League match at Old Trafford.
The decision comes after United's 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como on Wednesday.
The team has gone seven matches without a win, and senior figures are concerned about its performances and players' effort.
Carrick, 45, signed a two-year contract in May after winning 12 of 17 matches as interim manager last season.
United have begun identifying possible replacements, although the club has not announced an imminent change.
Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann are among the managers reported to be considered or interested in the job.
Carrick is due to hold a news conference on Friday before the Bournemouth match, while his long-term future remains uncertain.
