Aamir Khan reflects on family and sequel plans at Singapore film festival

At the Singapore International Film Festival, Aamir Khan reflected on his career and family during a public discussion.

He said the COVID-19 lockdown made him realize that three decades of work had cost him family time.

Khan said he has deliberately made more time for family and close friends over the past four years.

Director Rajkumar Hirani is working on a script for a possible sequel to 3 Idiots, and Khan hopes to hear its latest version in the coming weeks.

Khan said director Rajkumar Santoshi is also working on something related to a possible Andaz Apna Apna sequel, but gave no details.

The discussion also touched on Khan’s early career, when he signed nine films within six months of his 1988 debut becoming a hit and later felt overwhelmed as the films failed.

I think I can say this much, that yes, Raju is working on the script. In fact, hopefully once I’m back in the next couple of weeks, he’s going to narrate the final version to me. So, fingers crossed.
