Animated 'The Cat in the Hat' gets a mixed review
A new animated Cat in the Hat film stars Bill Hader as the mischievous feline, with a voice cast that also includes Giancarlo Esposito and Bowen Yang.
The Cat works for a company that sends him to cheer up two children whose family has moved to the city.
He uses a device that can undo the past, but it goes missing as a dangerous creature searches for it.
The lost device puts the fate of the universe at risk, turning a story about having fun into a large-scale adventure.
The review praises the film’s varied animation and voice performances but says its world-threatening plot feels overblown.
The film includes hints of possible spin-offs and a sequel, but no future projects are confirmed.
