Steam from a café air fryer triggered partial evacuation at Vnukovo

At Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport, passengers were partly evacuated from Terminal A after a fire alarm sounded in a café.

The alarm went off at about 23:00 in the domestic departures area.

Steam from cleaning an air fryer triggered the alarm, and airport staff found no fire.

The airport said the situation in the terminal was calm and passengers began returning at 23:30.

The café remained open, but its heating equipment was taken out of use until 09:00.

The evacuation was limited to part of the terminal, while separate flight restrictions were also reported that evening because of drone danger in the Moscow region.

Passengers were advised to check their flight status with the airport or their airline.
