Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac’s $3.3m Chiron stolen after keys left inside

A man stole Mate Rimac’s $3.3 million Bugatti Chiron from a company site in Croatia after Rimac left its keys inside.

Rimac is the founder and CEO of Bugatti’s parent company, Rimac Group.

He said he often left the keys in the car because he considered the country safe.

The car’s tracking data helped Rimac and police locate it after it went missing on October 29.

The driver evaded police at a gas station and crossed from Croatia into Slovenia.

Police from both countries helped apprehend the driver, who told Rimac he had found the keys while visiting the factory to seek a job.

Rimac got the car back and said he would stop leaving keys inside vehicles.
