Wonju exhibition explores new ways to use traditional Korean paper
Four artists are showing new work made with hanji at Wonju Hanji Theme Park in South Korea.
The exhibition brings together Shin Sun-mi, Cho Kyu-jin, Choi Hyun-sil and Italian artist Letizia Mannucci.
Their works use hanji for paintings, sculptures and expressions of light, drawing on the paper’s texture, color and ability to let light through.
Hanji is a traditional Korean material, and the exhibition looks at how contemporary artists can use it in different ways.
The show highlights the material’s artistic possibilities and how it can shape both individual works and spaces.
It is free to visit through Dec.
