China launches month-long campaign to improve consumer conditions

China launched a national campaign to improve consumer conditions on Nov.

3 in Quanzhou, Fujian.

The campaign is part of a three-year effort to make the consumer environment safer and more reliable.

Its November theme is “Trusted consumption, shared by all”, and 16 government departments are taking part.

At the launch, officials introduced a national platform for trusted businesses and a public mark for businesses that make consumer commitments.

Seven companies joining the platform pledged to follow those commitments, while businesses and associations also announced related initiatives.

Organisers have planned 187 activities across China, including public education, explanations of consumer rules and examples of good practice, to build confidence in spending.
