Turkey to cut petrol prices by 4.30 lira per litre

A 4.30-lira cut in petrol prices is expected in Turkey from Tuesday, October 20.

The expected reduction applies to petrol, and the sources give no announced change to diesel or LPG prices.

As of October 19, petrol cost 83.70 to 85.10 lira per litre across the listed areas of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

The cut comes as global market swings, currency movements and tax increases affect fuel prices.

A lower petrol price would reduce what drivers pay at the pump, though the final prices may differ by location.

The new prices are expected to appear at pumps from October 20.
