China opposes trade measures justified by claims of overcapacity

China says some countries may use claims of excess production to limit trade.

The warning followed a US-led meeting where 14 economies issued a joint statement on the issue.

China says trade problems should not be turned into political disputes.

It warned that measures harming its interests would bring a response.
