Hardy Krüger Jr. breaks his thigh bone in a fall and cancels tour

Actor Hardy Krüger Jr. broke his right thigh bone after falling down stairs at home in the night.

He was going to the kitchen in the dark when he missed a step and fell down 11 steps.

Doctors operated in Berlin, fixing the bone with a metal plate and a screw while keeping his hip joint.

Krüger said he is beginning to move again, but he must pause his theater tour for the first block of performances in the play “Der Sohn.”

He is due to begin rehabilitation, and the full recovery timeline remains uncertain.

Doctors will reassess his leg after about 12 weeks to see when he can put full weight on it.

He hopes to return to the stage in February 2027.
