Turkey’s markets watchdog orders bans and complaints over two stocks

Turkey’s Capital Markets Board ordered complaints over trades in two stocks listed on Borsa Istanbul: Altınkılıç Gıda and Anel Elektrik.

The board said its reviews found grounds to seek criminal complaints under a law covering market fraud; the complaints are not convictions.

It ordered two-year trading bans for people and companies linked to the trades, and suspended some individuals’ market licences for the same period.

The reports agree that eight people face complaints over Altınkılıç shares, but differ on the Anel Elektrik count: one says 48 and the other says 46.

The board also said people named in the complaints can seek leniency by paying at least 500,000 lira, or twice the benefit involved if higher, within 15 days of its decision.

The next step for those seeking leniency is to pay and send proof to the board within that deadline.
