Fiorentina and Atalanta draw 2-2 in Florence

Fiorentina and Atalanta drew 2-2 in Florence after a lively second half.

Atalanta took the lead through Charles De Ketelaere, his first league goal of the season.

Fiorentina’s Tòfol Montiel and João Mário put the hosts ahead after the break, but Nicola Zalewski equalised for Atalanta in the 74th minute.

Fiorentina were trying to climb away from the relegation zone, while Atalanta were seeking points for their European ambitions.

The draw gave little relief to either team, with Fiorentina also extending its winless run at the Franchi stadium, where it last won on April 13.

The match ended level, and no further next steps were specified.
