Nick Craig Wins OK Dinghy Southern Championship at Poole

Nick Craig won the OK Dinghy Southern Championship at Poole Yacht Club, ahead of Baabiil'o La Fleur and Ed Bradburn.

Seventeen boats competed in the regional event, which also gave British sailors preparing for the World Championships in Thailand a chance to test themselves.

Craig won the first two races, and his third-place finish in the final race was dropped under the event’s scoring rules.

La Fleur finished second with four points, while Bradburn took third after tying with Andy Davis on five points and winning the tiebreak through his final-race victory.

No racing took place on Sunday because the wind was unsuitable for a start.

The championship offered an early benchmark for the British sailors targeting the world event in February.

The fleet’s next scheduled major event is the End of Season Championships at Northampton Sailing Club.
