Speedrunners find a jump exploit in Ocarina of Time remake

Speedrunners have found a new glitch in the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The trick, known as actor jumping, uses movable objects in the game world such as chests or tombstones.

Players stand on an object, use an aimable tool, press the lock-on button before its animation ends, then jump.

The glitch sends Link much higher than normal, allowing players to skip large parts of some levels.

It is currently easiest to do with the hookshot and is considered relatively easy compared with some other tricks in the remake.

Nintendo has not patched the glitch, and speedrunners are using it as they look for more ways to finish the game quickly.

When Nintendo decided to add jumping to Ocarina of Time, I'm not sure this is quite what it had in mind.
