Flávio Bolsonaro considers moving two state banks under social ministry
Flávio Bolsonaro is considering moving two state banks under a ministry focused on social issues if he wins Brazil’s presidential election on Sunday.
The banks are currently under the Finance Ministry: they are Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil.
The proposed ministry, which has been called the Ministry of Prosperity during the campaign, could also cover women’s issues and possibly work and entrepreneurship.
Daniella Marques is the leading candidate to run the ministry; she led Caixa during the final year of Jair Bolsonaro’s government.
The plan is not agreed within Flávio’s team, partly because Caixa also handles housing and regional construction projects.
The ministry’s final role and leadership remain undecided, and the proposal depends on Flávio being elected.

Daniella Marques, an economic adviser to Bolsonaro and former Caixa president, is the leading candidate to head the social ministry.

The ministry’s final responsibilities have not been decided.
