Panchiko announce third album Chimera and release single with Mei Semones
Nottingham band Panchiko announced their third album, Chimera, and released its first single, “One Car Hits Another,” featuring singer Mei Semones.
The 12-track album is due April 9, 2027, through Nettwerk, and was recorded at the band’s own studio.
Its songs range across shoegaze, hip-hop, pop and balladry, with Semones appearing on three tracks and other guest musicians also featured.
Panchiko formed in the late 1990s and released an early recording in 2000 before fading from view.
A copy of that recording was found in a charity shop in 2016 and shared online, leading fans to identify the band and sparking a comeback and renewed following.
The album adds a new chapter to that revival, following the band’s 2023 album Failed At Math(s) and last year’s Ginkgo.
Panchiko are touring the UK and Ireland, with announced stops including London, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin.

Recorded at the band’s own studio, the 12-track album moves across shoegaze, hip-hop, pop and balladry.
Semones appears on three tracks, alongside guest contributors including billy woods, Abby Sage and Lula Nova.

What people are saying
I imagined a serene waltz of a car crash, whilst onlookers and soon-to-be roadkill alike all sing along watching the slow-motion collision unfold.
A hand shake, or a car crash, the matter-of-fact news report describing the incident never makes it clear where the true devastation lies… one car hits another… one hand shakes another; they’re both meetings, technically.
