Ruby Schleicher to leave Collingwood at the end of the AFLW season

Collingwood captain Ruby Schleicher will leave the club at the end of the AFLW season and return to Western Australia.

The 28-year-old told the Magpies on Tuesday, after a shoulder fracture in a loss to St Kilda ended her season.

West Coast has reportedly offered her a four-year deal, though the move has not been confirmed.

Schleicher joined Collingwood before the league’s first season in 2017 and has played 82 games for the club.

She became captain in 2025 and has kicked 10 goals this season after moving into the forward line.

Her departure is a major loss for Collingwood, which has won once in 10 rounds this season.

She is expected to begin her next chapter in WA, while several other senior Collingwood leaders are also approaching the end of their contracts.
